Music Video assignment

Music video

The song ill be using for my music video is Paradise - Chris Brown

Meaning:
There is a meaning of true love and when you do find true love it will feel like your living in paradise.

Narrative:

Its about living in paradise and what's its like living in Paradise, also meaning when you like someone that much it feels like they are in paradise.

Content:

Its Chris Brown riding around the beach and towards the end of the music video he's having a huge party, still next to the beach.
They have used a drone to get a wide shot of the place to make it look more realistic. It also shows what other people around are doing in the sun and the audience might relate to what they are doing maybe making them connect with the music video. Chris Brown is riding around on a bike with a friend but they have slowed it down to make it seem more enjoyable. That they don't want it to end making the memories seem slower.

Imagery:
The bits that stick out in the music video are when Chris Brown is riding down the promenaded with his friend having a great time on his bike. Laughing and dancing on the bike enjoying themselves. He's also lip syncing to the song which makes you want to join in with him.

Duration:
The music video last 4 minutes 21seconds but the audio version last 3 minutes 58 seconds

Pace:
The pace of the song is slow to start off with. It then gets to a build up and the pace gets quicker . It then drops back down to a steady pace .

Style:
The style of the music video is very summery. Its a chilled out 'summer' song. On most music videos when a summer song comes out they usually video the sea being really calm. This adds to the summer effect of the video. Watching the sea is also very calming and the music video wants you to feel calm while watching it.
The shots are mostly wide. For example when he is dancing in a building you can see the view in the background.

Lyrics:

I'm here at the end, yeah, if I could go back to the start
I'd do it again, yeah, I'd live like never before
Now will you remember, remember me when I'm gone?
Remember the heat, yeah, that's keeping you warm?

[Pre-Chorus]
Saying brighter, now we're burning up, light up
Yelling turn it up, let go, let go, let go

[Chorus]
In paradise, the closer I get to you it feels like paradise
And I'd do anything you'd want me to when we're in paradise
I'll see you on the other side, where it's alright
If tonight is the last night, I'll see you in paradise
If tonight is the last night, I'll see you in paradise
If tonight is the last night, I'll see you in paradise

[Verse 2]
You better be ready cause all good things come to an end
Spring into summer, my fire's burning again

[Pre-Chorus]
Saying brighter, I'm not giving up, light up
Gonna live it up, let go, let go, let go

[Chorus]
In paradise, the closer I get to you it feels like paradise
And I'd do anything you'd want me to when we're in paradise
I'll see you on the other side, where it's alright
If tonight is the last night, I'll see you in paradise, paradise
If tonight is the last night, I'll see you in paradise, paradise, paradise
If tonight is the last night, I'll see you in paradise

Day 1: I made a schedule of when I need to do things so that I am organized through the process of my work.

Day 5: I started to get ideas of what I wanted to film. The cast, the location and which camera I'm going to be using to video the music video. I decided that I want Gemma, Courtney and myself in the music video. I'm going to be using the Black magic camera to film it as its going to be at the beach and its the most convenient camera to take to the beach.

Day 11: I decided that I wanted to film at Redcar beach as its the easiest beach to get to however I want to go when the sun is setting as I want it to be a warm video to watch.

Day 20: I started to film my music video. Alternately I had a different song in mind which was Nobody does it better by Micheal Calfan. I was going to film my brothers having a great time at the park and going on there bikes and scooters. I started to film this but half way through it I wasn't keen on the idea anymore. So from here I changed my idea to Paradise by Chris Brown. I wanted to film my friends instead as they can understand me more and can share ideas. As my brothers are young they don't really know what they are doing and I had to retake the videos a few times.

Day 25: I filmed my music video. I also decided to include Brad Gill into it and film it for me.

Day 30: I started editing my music video on Adobe Premier Pro.

Day 35: I finished my editing and exported my video. I then uploaded it onto YouTube.

I didn't use any archive or creative common videos as the quality of the videos and pictures weren't that great. I had enough footage to reuse over ago if I needed to, which I did.

The only copyright I used for the song as wer were allowed to use any song we wanted. We had to becareful to which song we picked as we could of followed or kind of copied the original music video. Or tried to.

Day 36: I then started to fill in all the pre production forms in for the music video, such as the cast list, actors contract and the equipment booking.

This is the finished music video
